We feed our puppies a fresh, meat focused commercial diet made specifically for dogs. One of the main brands we use is Texas Tripe. For families living in Texas, we highly recommend looking into their freezer truck delivery program, which can make fresh feeding much more affordable. Texas Tripe also ships for an additional fee.
Another convenient option is the selection of premade fresh meat diets available at Hollywood Feed. There are several good brands and protein choices available.
We like to rotate proteins and brands rather than feeding the exact same meat every day. For example, a dog may have chicken one day, beef the next, and salmon another day. Variety can provide a broader range of nutrients and flavors.
Most importantly, your dog’s diet should be complete and properly balanced. Choose foods formulated for dogs, research the diet you are feeding, and discuss your dog’s individual nutritional needs with your veterinarian.
