Safari Doodles’ history reaches back to parent dogs born in 2004, owned and OFA health tested by us. In 2009, we began producing Doodle puppies from those established, health tested dogs, creating the foundation for generations of Safari Doodles lines.
Since then, our program has continued through multiple generations of Doodles and parent dogs. Our breeding program emphasizes OFA health testing, DNA screening, temperament evaluation, and careful puppy matching.

Does Safari Doodles have puppies available now?

Where is Safari Doodles located?
Safari Doodles is a North Texas breeding program made up of three homes working together under the leadership of Danise. Our families are located in Flower Mound, McKinney, and Aubrey, Texas, and all three homes operate as one coordinated Safari Doodles program. Families interested in a puppy can view our available and upcoming puppies and contact Danise of Safari Doodles for information about current openings.
How long have you bred dogs?
We have bred purebred dogs since the mid 1980s. Our Doodle lines trace back to parent dogs born in 2004, owned and OFA health tested by Safari Doodles. We began producing Doodle puppies in 2009 and have continued through multiple generations of health tested dogs.
What is the typical wait time?
You may immediately choose an available puppy that suits your needs or you may wait 1-12 months depending on your flexibility and if we have a surplus of puppies born.
Yes, we are taking deposits. Depending on what you are looking for we may have more puppies born than depositors for that litter and availability to take a puppy home within 1-6 weeks. The more specific characteristics you are looking for the longer you may need to wait.
All depositors may request from any litter born. Once the litter is 2 weeks old we establish the pick order, based on the seniority of depositors wanting that litter.
A 4-10 month wait should be expected if you have very specific preferences. We are breeding litters after we receive plenty of deposits for that type of puppy.
Safari Doodles has been blessed with many referrals and repeat puppy buyers and God continues to bless us with healthy puppies, but we have no control over what mothers are able to get pregnant or how many puppies are born in each litter.
Our mother dogs are pets first and we limit the amount of litters each girl has.
How much do Safari Doodles puppies cost?
Safari Doodles puppies are usually $3,500 regardless of size, variety, color or sex, unless a puppy is specifically listed at a different price on the current availability page. A $500 deposit is applied toward the purchase price, with the remaining balance due after puppy selection.
The price reflects the years of planning, health testing and hands on work that go into each litter. Safari Doodles parent dogs are selected for health, temperament and suitability for the breeding program and receive OFA health testing and DNA screening appropriate for their breed and background. Parent dogs are carefully matched using their health and genetic results to reduce the risk of producing puppies affected by tested inherited conditions.
Puppies are raised in a home environment, veterinarian checked, microchipped, dewormed and extensively socialized. They begin litter and potty training before going home, and Safari Doodles evaluates puppy temperament to help families choose a puppy whose personality and energy level are a good fit for their home.

What health testing does Safari Doodles do on parent dogs?
Safari Doodles uses OFA and DNA health testing appropriate for each breed and individual dog in our breeding program. Testing may include hips, elbows, cardiac evaluation, ophthalmologist eye examinations, patellas, and breed relevant DNA screening.
Parent dogs are matched using their health and genetic results to reduce the risk of producing puppies affected by tested inherited conditions. When available, individual parent profiles include direct links to OFA and DNA records.

How does the Safari Doodles puppy selection process work?
Families first complete a puppy application. After Safari Doodles reviews the application and determines that one of our puppies is a good fit for the home, families may place a deposit and join the master puppy list.
Families can express interest in available or upcoming litters. Pick order is based on deposit seniority among families requesting that particular litter. Safari Doodles also evaluates puppy temperament and helps families consider personality, energy level and household needs when selecting a puppy.
If the right puppy is not available in a particular litter, the deposit can be transferred to a future litter.

Safari Doodles puppies generally go home at approximately 8 weeks of age. Puppy selection may take place shortly before the go home date, depending on the litter.
