2. Purchase, Ownership, and Deposit
Safari Doodles puppies are sold as companion pets.
The standard deposit is $500 and is nonrefundable. A deposit may be used to join the Safari Doodles master wait list or reserve an available puppy. If the Buyer changes puppies, the deposit returns to the master wait list and remains subject to its original expiration date.
A deposit expires 2 years after the date it was paid if the Buyer has not selected and taken home a puppy.
If Safari Doodles determines before placement that a particular puppy should not be placed because of a health or other concern, the deposit returns to the master wait list.
Safari Doodles may cancel a placement for fraud, threats, abuse, material misrepresentation, or other serious Buyer misconduct. In that situation, the deposit is forfeited.
This Purchase Agreement is signed when the puppy has been paid in full. Ownership transfers to the Buyer when the full purchase price has been paid, even if Safari Doodles continues boarding the puppy afterward.
The puppy may not leave Safari Doodles until the purchase price is paid in full.
All puppy sales are final except for the specific refund or replacement rights stated in this Agreement.
3. Three Day Initial Illness Protection
The puppy is covered for the first 3 days after leaving Safari Doodles for a serious illness that was already present or incubating when the puppy left Safari Doodles.
The 3 day period begins when the puppy physically leaves Safari Doodles, including when the puppy leaves with a transporter selected by the Buyer.
The Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian during this 3 day period. Failure to complete the examination ends the 3 day illness protection but does not affect the separate Two Year Health Guarantee.
After the first 3 days, Safari Doodles does not provide coverage for viral, bacterial, respiratory, gastrointestinal, parasitic, or other acquired illnesses.
If a qualifying serious illness is confirmed during the first 3 days, the Buyer may choose:
A refund of the puppy purchase price, or one replacement Safari Doodles puppy of comparable value.
To receive either remedy, the puppy must be returned to Safari Doodles at the Buyer’s expense. If a licensed veterinarian states in writing that the puppy is medically unable to travel safely, return may be delayed until travel is medically appropriate.
Safari Doodles may have the returned puppy examined by its veterinarian. If Safari Doodles requests an additional veterinary opinion, Safari Doodles will pay for that opinion.
All veterinary records, medications, paperwork, and items provided specifically for the puppy must be returned with the puppy.
A replacement puppy provided under this 3 day provision receives the normal Safari Doodles Purchase Agreement and full Two Year Health Guarantee.
4. Two Year Congenital and Hereditary Health Guarantee
Safari Doodles guarantees the puppy through the puppy’s second birthday against serious congenital or hereditary conditions that significantly affect the dog’s health, normal physical function, or quality of life.
This includes serious hereditary orthopedic, cardiac, eye, neurologic, and other congenital or hereditary disease, including serious hereditary hip dysplasia.
Minor findings that do not meaningfully affect the dog’s health, function, or quality of life do not qualify.
A covered condition must have a confirmed diagnosis. A suspected condition, murmur, abnormal screening result, laboratory abnormality, preliminary finding, or other unconfirmed concern is not by itself a qualifying diagnosis.
A licensed veterinarian may make the initial diagnosis. When a condition reasonably requires specialty evaluation or advanced diagnostic testing, Safari Doodles may require confirmation by an appropriate board certified veterinary specialist.
Safari Doodles may request a second veterinary or specialist opinion and will pay the cost of an opinion Safari Doodles requests.
A condition remains eligible if treatment or surgery later improves or corrects it, provided the original diagnosis met the requirements of this Guarantee.
If a covered condition causes the dog’s death or humane euthanasia before the second birthday, the Guarantee may apply when supported by appropriate veterinary documentation.
If the cause of death is unclear, Safari Doodles may require a necropsy. Safari Doodles will pay for a necropsy it requires. A necropsy independently requested by the Buyer is the Buyer’s responsibility.
5. Health Claim Requirements
The Buyer must notify Safari Doodles within 30 days of diagnosis.
If a potentially covered condition is identified before the second birthday and Safari Doodles is notified before the second birthday, the Buyer has up to 60 days after the second birthday to obtain the final diagnosis and submit the required documentation.
All claims must be submitted by email to:
The first claim email should include the dog’s name, microchip number, diagnosis or suspected covered condition, veterinarian information, and available medical records.
If the Buyer does not receive a response within 5 calendar days, the Buyer must follow up by phone call or text to notify Safari Doodles to locate and review the email. The original email date remains the claim submission date.
For any claim, the Buyer must provide the dog’s complete veterinary history from the time the puppy entered the Buyer’s home through the date of the claim, including records from every veterinarian, emergency clinic, specialist, or veterinary provider that examined or treated the dog.
Records include routine visits, examination notes, diagnoses, medications, vaccinations, laboratory testing, imaging, surgery, emergency care, specialist evaluations, and treatment records.
The Buyer authorizes Safari Doodles to communicate directly with veterinarians and specialists involved in the dog’s care for purposes of evaluating the claim.
Safari Doodles may pause claim review until complete records are received. A claim may be denied when records necessary to evaluate the claim are not provided or reasonable veterinary communication is refused.
Safari Doodles has 30 days to review a complete claim. If Safari Doodles requests a second opinion, the review period pauses until that evaluation and its records are received.
6. Microchip Identification
The dog’s identity must be verifiable throughout its veterinary history.
At every veterinary visit, including routine care, emergency care, specialist visits, diagnostic testing, and health guarantee evaluations, the veterinarian should scan the dog’s microchip and record both that the chip was scanned and the exact microchip number found in the dog.
Veterinary reports used to support a claim must identify the dog by microchip whenever reasonably possible.
A veterinarian’s failure to record the microchip at a particular visit does not automatically cancel the Guarantee, but Safari Doodles may require additional identity verification before relying on that record.
7. Refund or Replacement Under the Two Year Guarantee
For approved claims under the Two Year Health Guarantee, the Buyer may keep the affected dog and choose one of the following remedies:
A) Refund option: Refunds totaling no more than the original puppy purchase price.
B) Replacement option: One Safari Doodles puppy of comparable value.
The Buyer’s choice is final once made in writing.
Acceptance of any partial refund means the Buyer has selected the refund option. All refund amounts are cumulative and the total amount refunded for the dog may never exceed the original puppy purchase price, regardless of how many covered conditions are diagnosed.
The health guarantee provides only one total remedy for the original dog. Multiple health conditions do not create multiple replacement rights or refunds beyond the original purchase price.
An approved refund will be issued within 30 days of claim approval.
A Buyer choosing a replacement has 1 year from claim approval to select and take home an available Safari Doodles puppy.
If the selected replacement puppy has a higher purchase price, the Buyer pays the difference. If the replacement puppy has a lower purchase price, no refund or credit is given for the difference.
A replacement puppy provided because of a claim under the Two Year Health Guarantee receives the 3 day illness protection but does not receive a new Two Year Health Guarantee.
Safari Doodles does not reimburse veterinary bills, diagnostic costs, surgery, medication, training, transportation, boarding, supplies, taxes, or other expenses under the Health Guarantee. Safari Doodles’ maximum financial responsibility under the Health Guarantee is the original puppy purchase price.
8. Conditions and Traits Not Covered
The Health Guarantee does not cover:
• Illness or injury acquired after the applicable 3 day illness period.
• Parasites after the first 3 days, including Giardia, Coccidia, intestinal worms, or fleas.
• Conditions caused or materially worsened by trauma, accident, poisoning, neglect, obesity, or another acquired event.
• Minor or cosmetic conditions that do not significantly affect health or normal function, including retained baby teeth, small uncomplicated umbilical hernias, minor bite or occlusion differences, cosmetic faults, or mild allergies.
• Fertility, reproductive ability, pregnancy related conditions, retained testicles, or suitability for breeding.
• Exact adult height or weight. Any projected adult size is an estimate only.
• Coat type, coat color, markings, shedding level, adult appearance, show quality, service dog suitability, therapy dog suitability, or specific training outcomes.
Safari Doodles puppies are mixed breed dogs. Consumer DNA breed identification tests and breed percentage estimates are not guaranteed under this Agreement. Safari Doodles does not guarantee that a DNA testing company will identify particular breeds or report specific breed percentages. Differences in breed identification or estimated percentages are not considered a health defect and do not qualify for a refund or replacement.
9. Known Conditions at Time of Purchase
The following conditions, findings, or exceptions were disclosed to the Buyer before purchase and are excluded from this Health Guarantee, including if the disclosed condition later becomes more significant:

10. Veterinary Care and Records Provided
Safari Doodles will provide the puppy’s available vaccination, deworming, veterinary, and microchip records at pickup.
The Buyer should provide those records to the Buyer’s veterinarian.
The Buyer agrees to provide reasonable, age appropriate veterinary and preventive care as recommended by a licensed veterinarian and to maintain the dog at a healthy body condition.
The Buyer is responsible for ongoing veterinary care after pickup.
11. Pet Only and No Breeding
The puppy is sold as a companion pet only and may not be used for breeding.
Safari Doodles does not require the Buyer to spay or neuter the dog.
Breeding rights are not granted and may not be sold, assigned, transferred, or given to another person or business.
Any intentional unauthorized breeding or use of the dog for breeding is a material breach of this Agreement and immediately ends all warranties, guarantees, refund rights, replacement rights, and other benefits provided to the Buyer under this Agreement. No health claim will be accepted after such a breach, including a claim involving a condition that may have existed or been diagnosed before the unauthorized breeding.
If an unauthorized litter is produced by either a male or female dog sold under this Agreement, the Buyer agrees to pay Safari Doodles $5,000 in liquidated damages for each unauthorized litter. The parties agree this amount represents a reasonable estimate of damages that may be difficult to calculate and is not intended as a penalty.
Payment of liquidated damages does not create breeding rights.
Safari Doodles provides no health guarantee, warranty, or contractual responsibility for offspring produced from an unauthorized breeding.
The Buyer may not use the Safari Doodles name, logo, kennel name, reputation, the names of the puppy’s sire or dam, Safari Doodles photographs, pedigrees, OFA links, DNA results, health testing information, or other Safari Doodles materials to advertise, market, or promote an unauthorized litter or its offspring.
12. Optional Boarding After Purchase
If the Buyer chooses to have Safari Doodles continue boarding the puppy after purchase, boarding is available at $50 per day and boarding fees are due weekly.
The puppy purchase price must be paid in full before optional boarding begins.
The Buyer is responsible for veterinary expenses incurred during optional boarding.
At the Buyer’s request, Safari Doodles may transport the puppy for vaccinations, veterinary examinations, or other requested veterinary care. Safari Doodles’ transportation fee will be quoted at the time of the request. Veterinary fees are paid by the Buyer directly to the veterinarian.
While the puppy remains physically in Safari Doodles’ care for optional boarding, Safari Doodles is responsible for the puppy’s care and safety.
If the puppy is injured while boarding with Safari Doodles, Safari Doodles will be responsible for reasonable veterinary care required as a result of that injury.
If the puppy dies while boarding with Safari Doodles, the Buyer may choose either a refund of the puppy purchase price or one Safari Doodles puppy of comparable value.
13. Buyer Arranged Transportation
Any flight nanny, ground transporter, courier, or other delivery service is selected, hired, and paid for by the Buyer.
Once the puppy leaves Safari Doodles in the care of the Buyer’s chosen transporter, the risk of transportation transfers to the Buyer.
Safari Doodles is not responsible for the transporter’s acts or omissions, loss, theft, escape, failure to arrive, transportation related injury, illness caused during transportation, or death occurring during transportation.
This transportation provision does not eliminate the 3 day illness protection for a qualifying illness that was already present or incubating before the puppy left Safari Doodles.
14. Lifetime Return Option
Safari Doodles will accept the dog back at any age during the dog’s lifetime if the owner wants Safari Doodles to take the dog.
The owner is not required to contact Safari Doodles before choosing to rehome the dog elsewhere.
A voluntary return does not include a refund or credit.
15. Microchip Registration
The Buyer is responsible for keeping the dog’s microchip registration and contact information current.
Failure to update microchip registration does not by itself cancel the Health Guarantee.
16. Neurological Conditions and Isoxazoline Drugs
This Health Guarantee does not provide a refund, replacement puppy, reimbursement, or other compensation for any neurological condition, neurological symptom, seizure disorder, tremor, ataxia, or other neurologic abnormality if the Dog has received any drug in the isoxazoline class after leaving Safari Doodles.
This exclusion applies regardless of the brand name, method of administration, reason the drug was prescribed or administered, or whether the isoxazoline drug is determined to be the cause of the neurological condition.
This exclusion also applies whether or not a direct causal relationship between the drug and the neurological condition can be established.
The Buyer is responsible for informing all veterinarians treating the Dog of this provision and for maintaining complete veterinary records documenting all flea, tick, and parasite prevention products and medications administered to the Dog.
17. General Terms
This Health Guarantee applies only to the original Buyer and does not transfer to another owner.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any legal action relating to this Agreement must be brought in Collin County, Texas, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
This Agreement contains the entire agreement concerning this puppy purchase.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
A waiver or accommodation in one situation does not waive Safari Doodles’ right to enforce the Agreement in another situation.
Electronic signatures and electronic copies have the same effect as a signed paper documents.
18. Buyer Acknowledgment
By signing below, the Buyer confirms that the Buyer has read this Agreement, understands its terms, had the opportunity to ask questions, and agrees to be bound by it.
