Our Golden Retriever History
Safari Doodles has bred Golden Retrievers since the 1980s, long before we began producing Doodle puppies. Our Golden Retriever program includes generations of dogs we know personally, including parents, grandparents, and great grandparents of our puppies.
We are located about one hour north of Dallas, four hours from Austin, and five hours from Houston.
Families looking for English Cream Golden Retriever puppies in Texas can learn more about our dogs, health testing, and established Golden Retriever lines through Safari Doodles.

The dogs and litters below are part of Safari Doodles’ Golden Retriever history. Many of these established Golden Retriever lines continue behind our Mini Goldendoodles today.
Mable & Louie Golden Retriever puppies
The mother, Mable, is from the world famous kennel “WestWing”. She is related to Gunner “Westwing’s Second Amendment“, who is the father to many working service dogs for Power Paws Service Dogs in AZ. Mable’s line has a fantastic reputation for producing stable dogs with great health. We are excited to have a litter from this outstanding litter of Golden Retriever puppies from this famous line of service dogs.
Mable completed Embark DNA testing and was clear for the breed relevant genetic variants tested. She also received OFA Good hips, OFA Normal elbows, cardiac testing, and an ophthalmologist eye examination. Her public OFA records document her health testing. Mable’s OFA link
The father, Louie, is an IABCA Conformation Champion. Louie has OFA Excellent Hips, OFA Normal Elbows, OFA Normal Heart and his eyes have been screened by an opthalmologist. Louie’s OFA Link
Together this breeding of Golden Retrievers offers genetic diversity, generations of great health and a reputation of fantastic working and service dogs. This breeding combined health tested parents, genetic diversity, established family lines, and temperaments we knew well.
Gunner was the sire of one of our Golden Retriever litters in 2016. He came from European Golden Retriever lines. Gunner’s Pedigree
These Goldens remain an important part of Safari Doodles today. Their descendants continue through our Mini Goldendoodle lines, allowing us to build on generations of dogs we know well rather than starting with unfamiliar breeding stock.
