Why should I only buy a puppy from a breeder who fully DNA health tests?
Answer A:
“I bought a puppy from fully DNA health tested parents. One of those parents was fully Clear/ Normal on every relevant disese. I know my puppy will live a long healthy life and never be affected by a dozen horrid diseases.”
Answer B:
“I bought a puppy and his parents were not DNA tested. Now my poor dog is suffering with diseases that could have been prevented. If only I’d bought my dog from a breeder who cared about the health of my puppy, all these thousands of dollars of vet bills and my dog’s suffering would have never happened.”
Any breeder who sells puppies that are not fully DNA tested for all the relevant diseases affecting their breeds is NOT Ethical. When you buy a puppy who is NOT from DNA tested parents, you should assume your dog will inherit all the applicable breed related diseases.
Both DM & PRCD are very common and completely avoidable. Only purchase a dog from parents who are DNA tested as Clear/Normal. Below, see info about these two common health problems.
